Make Your Planner Fresh & Functional For Fall!
September 09 2019 – Christine Jensen
Hello planner friends, it’s Cara here today! Fall is in the air and with only 2 weeks left until my favourite season, I’m excited to move back into a TN (another favourite) and create a cosy autumnal setup. I’m excited to curl up with a cup of tea and a cozy knit sweater and plan.
What is cosier than a farmhouse? I LOVE, love, love the Fall Farmhouse collection so I chose it to set up my Aztec TN for Autumn. I pulled out some cosy favourites from the stickers, die cuts and chipboard to decorate my pockets. I added some washi, a bow clip and some enamel dots. I even pulled out my favourite fox clip that I made with last year’s Fall collection! A strip of polka dotted paper in that long back pocket looks fab against the cream coloured TN.
The first insert has lots more of my favourite things. If I say ‘favourite’ one more time, I think Julie Andrews may pop out and start singing in her nightie! The Sound of Music is also a favourite! But, I really do adore that blue floral paper and because Anne of Green Gables was a huge part of my childhood (I grew up going to PEI every Summer), this quote is so perfect! I layered the Fall Memories plaid paper underneath it, added some stickers, a pumpkin die cut and it’s as cozy as a wooly sweater!
The next insert has two gingham checks layered up, with that pumpkin from the 3x4 elements cut apart sheet. Again a few die cuts and stickers finish off the look.
Usually I keep the more bulky items like enamel dots and chipboard to only the front of that first insert, to make it easier to write, but in this case, I couldn’t help myself! I layered the chipboard over two 2x2 squares from the cut apart sheet and more of that polka dot paper that I used for the pockets. A scattering of stickers, like falling leaves, finish off this TN insert.
Inside the monthly TN, I’ve set up October. I’ve added the dates with small circles from the Numbers tablet and decorated the empty squares with box stickers from the mini sticker tablet and (pumpkin) spiced up the 'October' with another sticker. There are lots of other stickers from that same tablet, especially the flags and small circles. I love the journaling bits die cuts, they are so perfect for your planner! A strip of washi and a couple of stickers from the Halloween collection for the 31st and the spread is done and ready to be filled up with all my tasks and appointments.
I'm off to grab a cozy sweater and to put the kettle to make some tea, so I can curl up and plan out my Fall.
