Memory Keeping in your Planner? YES!
October 28 2019 – Amber Crowell
I simply love Fall! Don’t you? The crunchy leaves, cool weather, chunky sweaters, toasty fire pits, corn mazes and pumpkins!
And…. I want to capture those fabulous memories in my planner!
Come take a look ……
"And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be are full of trees and changing leaves..." - Virginia Woolf
Have you ever thought of using your 3-Ring planner to hold your most precious memories from each month? It’s easy and fun!
It begins with a pocket full of goodies and a monthly divider decorated for the season lol!
Two fun tips:
- Place a paper clip bow in the pockets for an easy 3-D effect
- Use a large circle punch to bring a pop of color to your pockets!
"It's the first day of autumn! A time of hot chocolatey mornings, and toasty marshmallow evenings, and, best of all, leaping into leaves!" - Winnie the Pooh, "Pooh's Grand Adventure"
Then a decorated month view to log your favorite travels, events and celebrations of the month!
A few fun tips:
- Use washi tape to mark days of travel
- Add a card from the scrapbook kit by punching holes along the side, for added dimension and color.
- Cut some of the floral ephemera down the middle and use for decoration (notice the top left of the month view) It looks like it growing off the page!
"Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple." - J.K. Rowling
Next, I had some creative fun by cutting the squares from the scrapbook kit and put together my sn@p nine square photo page.
Creative tip:
You could also use the nine squares as a bucket list!
- First column reads FALL
- Second column your bucket list!
- Third column a photo of you enjoying each thing on your bucket list! FUN!
"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus
Following your month view, create some photo pages using the Simple Stories sn@p! Pocket pages to house your favorite photos from the month!!
OK friends! Something Important to discuss here! Enjoy yourself, don’t even begin comparing your projects to what you see on-line, pinterest or Instagram. There’s a lot of fabulous talent out there and sometimes we get so caught up in the comparison game we lose sight of the initial JOY!
Comparison is the thief of joy. This is your planner memory album. It’s your individual creativity! This is YOU! It’s YOURS! Get creative with paper, don’t try to be perfect, just be you…and enjoy the fun of filling the pockets lol! It’s that simple!
“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”
- Emily Brontë
