Hello again, hope you’re having a wonderful summer!
For this blog I’d like to show you something fun and a little bit different!
I’m going through a phase of loving anything retro!, so when I spotted this floral paper in the new Happy Trails Collection it just screamed 70’s wallpaper...and I needed to use it!!
I started off by fussy cutting out some of the flowers to use in my pockets and I also fished out a few bits from the past Simple Stories Reset Girl Collection, the two worked perfectly together!!
Now for the dashboard! It was an absolute given I was going to use the floral paper but I wanted something on it as a feature.
The 4x4 floral cut a part was perfect!! I made a little border to layer it up, using the reverse side of the floral 12x12 and as always drew around the edges to help lift them off the page.
I couldn’t do a retro themed planner set up without using a retro lady like you find on the front of sewing patterns.
I fussy cut this retro lady out from a journaling card and then I layered up the ‘Simply Amazing words which were off the same journaling card. Nothing went to waste!
I also used a tab punch to punch out a tab in brown paper, this links in the brown splashes that I’d used in the pockets.
I hope you like what I’ve done and it’s given you the confidence to look past the obvious on a scrapbooking collection! Who’d have thought that a camping collection could be turned into a fun retro set up!!
