I love Advent calendars and today I’ll share with you one idea using the gorgeous Country Christmas collection from Simple Stories.
Did you know that the word advent means the arrival of something or someone, and therefore is a time of preparation? The Advent Calendar, or Adventskalender, came a long time ago, when German Lutherans marked, with chalk, the 24 days before Christmas at their doorsteps.
The Advent season is a great time to be with family and do things and activities together, practicing actual gratitude and solidarity, as well as strengthening bonds!
So, each day I write about something that I am thankful for or some Christmas-related activity, like watching Christmas movies or decorating the tree.
To make this calendar I made 24 mini envelopes using the 6x8 paper pad and for each advent day I wrote a message.
I used the ministicker tablet to number my envelopes and to background my calendar, on the covers, I used the 12x12 “winter”, “O Christmas”, “Joyous noel”, “Glad” papers; some die-cuts, floral die-cuts and some combo cardstock stickers items.
It was super fun and I loved the result.
Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!
