Have a Peaceful Christmas Season by Starting Your Planning Early

It’s Cara here today and I’m going to get you started on your Christmas planning!

Don’t click away!

I KNOW it’s only September, and you aren’t ready to start anything Christmas yet, but hear me out.

By starting now, simply, and gradually working on your Christmas tasks you can have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas season that you actually get to enjoy. Doesn’t that sound nice?

Don’t worry I’m not asking you to go out and get your tree today, all I’m suggesting you do is create a little place to capture ideas and to-do’s for your Christmas tasks. This can be a section in your everyday planner or a specific planner or notebook. I’ve created a TN insert that I plan to add to my everyday planner. You can use Christmas product like the adorable Holly Jolly line, like I have, or one of the pretty Fall collections or anything else that makes you happy.

Let’s have a look at mine.

Since Christmas comes only once a year, I love any and every opportunity to use the pretty Christmas lines from Simple Stories, so there are lots of ‘pretties’ on the cover of my TN insert. I added that fabulous green striped paper over the plaid paper cover and added a card from the 3x4 card in the 6x8 pad and lots of the die cuts, stickers and even some enamel dots!

Can we just take a moment to chat about this little pink Vespa, please!? I’d love to have a Vespa, but with 6 children to drive around I’ll have to wait on that dream. For now, I’ll just have to be happy with cute little die cut vespas with trees tied to the back. Initially, I struggled with this blank page, but once I decided on the Vespa, the rest seemed to fall into place.

I wanted to have ‘2019 Christmas Season’ so I cheated ;) The 2019 is from the number stickers in the mini sticker tablet, I used the 20 and the 19. The Christmas is cut from a sticker that said Merry Christmas and the ‘season’ is from a little die cut banner that said ’tis the season’.

Another cheat of mine is that I ‘stole’ calendar pages from an older monthly insert. I only need 2 months for this insert as the other pages vary and are mostly lists, so there was no need for an entire insert full of monthly pages. I have a process video coming out on Monday that shows how I do this.

I included a November calendar because not only do we have a lot going on in November, but I also like to schedule in a lot of my preparation type tasks in November to leave my December free for the myriad of parties and activities. Still, I don’t need a lot of room to write, so I chose the larger number stickers that are included in the collections mini sticker tablet.

I know I’ll need more room to write in the December calendar, so I numbered that one with the smallest number stickers from the Numbers Tablet.

Layered papers, stickers and die cuts finish off both calendar spreads. I connected the two mitten die cuts with a piece of red and white bakers twine. Tab stickers from the large combo sticker sheet will help me locate this pages easily and quickly.

I wish you all the best in your Christmas preparations and if you would like to follow my Peaceful Christmas Video Series, be sure to subscribe to my channel on YouTube so you won't miss the videos as they come out. And don’t forget that the process video for this project will be up on Monday. You won’t miss it if you are subscribed!

Have a fantastic (it's-too-early-for-Christmas) day, and happy Christmas planning!
